Questions
Is it free?
Yes. Use it as much as you like, no account needed.
How do I share a beat?
Press Share beat. The link holds the whole pattern, tempo, swing, loops, filter and room, so whoever opens it hears exactly what you made.
Can I export the beat?
Yes, as MIDI: four bars on the General MIDI drum map, with soft hits and the fill bar, ready for any drum rack in your DAW. Audio export is not available here; every sound is from RAW POWER, 179 drum samples and loops as 32-bit WAV, so you can rebuild the beat with the same sounds.
What is a virtual drum machine?
A drum machine that runs as software instead of hardware: a grid of steps for each sound, a tempo and a swing control, and pads you can play. This one runs in the browser, so there is nothing to install.
Can it write a beat for me?
Yes. Pick a style and how busy it should be, and it writes a beat in that genre; New beat writes another. The arrows take you back to the beats you had.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. The pads respond to touch, and the grid fits a phone screen.
Do the loops play in time?
Yes. A loop starts on the next bar and is played at the tempo of the beat, so it stays locked to the grid. The loops are recorded between 118 and 126 BPM.
What are the keyboard shortcuts?
The pads are mapped to 1-4, Q-R, A-F and Z-V, like a 4x4 pad controller. Space starts and stops the beat.
