How E harmonic minor sounds

Natural minor with a raised 7th. The jump from the 6th to the 7th gives it an exotic, dramatic sound, and the 5th chord becomes major, which pulls hard back to the root.

Used in: Trance, hard dance, film music, classical and Middle Eastern flavours.

For the low end: the root of E harmonic minor is E and the fifth is B. A kick or 808 tuned to one of them sits with the bass; the kick drum tuning chart has the frequencies.
